My Mantra. Do you live by principles?

Do you live by principles? Do you have a set of rules or guide to fall back onto when you make a choice? As the inspirational Stephen Covey states having a mission statement in life helps you keep a set of core principles to abide by. Life goes on and people come and people go, oh yeah, and shit happens. That’s the basis right. Everything changes, but as long as they are strong… principles don’t.

Just having them in your head isn’t enough, maybe stick them on your forehead to remember every time you look in the mirror. Alright enough of the silliness :) Here is my Mantra that keeps me in check. It needs a refresh with parts adding as I may have grown a bit since then, but before I do here is the first ever draft I did. Enjoy.

I will use

REASON

first and foremost as my basis.

I will not imitate he who

hurts

me.

Hate

no one.

Hurt

no one.

Make time to learn and

teach.

We live for each other, always

help

others in need.

Always

smile,

be positive even in times of despair.

Love thy closest with

compassion

and loyalty.

No one person can change my inner

core.

Live to your

purpose.

I have a set of principles i live my life by. find it very hard to write down in words but I think you’ve done a good job here with it as it captures so much within very little.

    Each one, teach one.

I try to. Sometimes it’s difficult because I either forget, or conveniently change my opinion for a little while. I’ve been trying to figure out how to stick my closely to my beliefs… I guess maybe my beliefs just aren’t strong enough =\

Yeah, but I don’t recommend it. It’s a huge pain in the ass.

Yes, I do. I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord and savior, Jesus the Messiah. I walk before him faithfully and I’m blameless.

Principles are unbreakable. Yes we can be swayed by circumstances to do what we should not but when it comes down to it your beliefs keep you on course in the long term.

“WWJD” is a pretty effecting principle to live by.
In fact, if you read you principles above once more, it more or less is “WWJD”.

Yes it could be said to be quite similar to WWJD.

Though my principles have derived from hinduism and older greek philosophies. Either way they are still quite the same as the basis of WWJD!
